Just some of the beautiful feedback sent into JokerxHarley!

I just wanted to say that I've been looking at your JokerxHarley website and it's a really great site.  I love the articles you have put toegether, they are really well written.  ESPECIALLY the evolution of their relationship article.  I will have to keep checking for new articles in the future.

As an old school Batman fan (comics led to the Burton films let to the animated series and so on) it's such a relief to find a site praising the Joker/HArley relationship by someone who actually GETS IT.  I really liked the points you made about TDK fans who feel the need to completely rewrite the characters, you hit the nail on the head when you spoke about them liking bad boys but not getting what it meant to be in an abusive relationship.  That article was very well written indeed.

It's such a nice change to find a site that isn't worshipping the ground that Nolan walks on.  As a Batman fan and a Film fan in general, I don't like the new run of films, for me there are poorly structured, badly cast and drag on for far too long.  I thought Ledger's Joker was an interesting character, but wasn't the Joker.  I tried explaining to a non-Bat fan why myself and many of the animated series fans did not like the new films or Ledger as the Joker, I finally managed to find an analogy in Death Note (which my friend is a fan of the animated series & manga but not the films), explaining that the man in the Death Film who played L was an interesting character but he wasn't L.  It kinda helped but she still didn't get it and then started waffling on about how much she loved A Knights Tale...

Sorry, I started waffling on there, didn't mean to.  I hope I haven't offended you or anything if you DO like the Nolan films, I never quite know when to shut up.  Sorry.

I was wondering if there was going to be an article on the Joker and Harley's interaction in the Batman: Arkham Asylum game?  I managed to play it through in 3 days (on easy mode) and there were some great Joker/Harley moments in the game.  A particular favourite moment for me was the Joker talking to Batman and accuses him of flirting with Harley "MY HARLEY" - he stresses.

I just wanted to congratulate you on a superb job, especially your analyses of the characters and their relationships.  Some may say you're obsessive and over-thinking, but it's the kind of thing I've always done in my onw head- what a breath of fresh air to see it done by someone else.  Though I do have a bit of a quibble with you; I used to like Harley, but now I may be OBSESSED with her!

Also, I wanted to thank you.  Ever since discovering Harley Quinn and the Joker, I have always thought they BELONGED together.  As a pro-feminist man, this disturbed me deeply, and has led to a feeling of unease in the bits of fandom I've dabbled in; Always dissapointed when someone breaks them up, yet always feeling like I ought to agree.  It's QUITE the breath of fresh air to find not only a fellow fan who agrees with me, but one who is MUCH more passoinate about it than I am.  So, thank you!

I wanted to send you a message to let you know I think your JokerxHarley site is fantastic. I absolutely love it.

While a lot of people find the whole D/s or Daddy/daughter relationships odd (or at least that's what they say), that's what attracts me to these people. I have long been fascinated with these types of relationships and to be honest, I think I'd prefer them to the kind of relationships a lot of people, if not most people, are having now-a-days. Have I ever participated in one on a day to day basis? No. But not because I see anything wrong with it. I am a professional college student who, frankly, doesn't have the time.

Either way, I really feel, that on both sides, that is the core of the relationship between these two people. Think back to the end of the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Harlequinade". The part where, after subduing Batman and Robin, she did her trademark squeak and jumped into The Jokers arms, thrilled to see him and started whining about Batman keeping her captive in his "bad old car", and he replied, "awwwww...". I think that moment was what solidified this as a Daddy/daughter relationship to me. She views Joker as the man who protects and takes care of her (her Daddy) and she was essentially "telling" on Batman. I think that those few seconds illustrate how Harley lives in their relationship all the time. I just don't see their relationship as existing any other way. There is more to their relationship than just Joker seeing Harley simply as a sidekick or having someone to manipulate and control. Don't get me wrong, power, control and manipulation is a huge part of it. But I don't think the Harley/Joker relationship would exist if Harley was male. He chose her for a reason. There is a definate difference between Harley as a sidekick to Joker and Robin as a sidekick to Batman.

I also agree with you that there is probable sexual contact between these two. He "gets off" on controling and manipulating her and I believe sexual control and domination is a natural extension of that, even if it means denying her sex. Which judging by what I saw in "Mad Love"...he does practive at times.

Then there is the whole whoopie cushon thing.

I've not had a chance to read the comic books as I have only discovered these two within the last few weeks, but once my money is freed up from the expenses of summer classes, I intend to at least track down Mad Love. While I do enjoy the animated episodes, even having put some of the Harley centered ones on my iPod, I feel like I am getting a watered down version for younger eyes. I am anxious to see these two in all their uncensored demented glory. I discovered Harley when I recently purchased Lego Star Wars...which caused me to download the Lego Batman demo off of Xbox Live. I picked the "play as the villan" option and that was the first time I had ever even seen Harley.  The Jokers mannerisms are common pop culture knowledge so while I didn't know who she was..I had an idea of what she was...if that makes sense. I am glad I made this discovery as the character, and the couple as a whole, are just fasicinating.

I'm just writing to thank you for your superawesome website www.jokerxharley.com.

I'm one of those people who only had vague impressions about what the Batman universe was- I hadn't even heard of the Joker! And then I saw The Dark Knight and nearly had a heart attack. Loved him instantly, for reasons which I understand intimately- but can't seem to explain to anyone who doesn't get it. So, of course, I simply had to learn everything about him. However, disappointingly, nobody seemed to really know all that much...

And then during my researching on the internet I stumbled across this character called Harley Quinn. I was in hysterics, because I'd already invented a very similar character in my head, (after watching TDK for the eighth time), and was ecstatic to realise that the writers had already come up with her.

But everything I was finding said that she was this blonde-bimbo. Just some stupid, childish, punching-bag for the big nasty ol' Joker. I was absolutely heartbroken. Then I found your website Harley's Haven- which lead me to JokerxHarley. I'm trying to find words for how grateful I am for your brilliant site. I've just finished reading the very last word, on the very last page, (although I was distracted for a while by your fanfiction recommendations- an extra thanks for introducing me to the works of MadPuppy, Sno-Chan and Gladrial, among many others, by the way) and I'm so happy that my original impressions were wrong. Once you prompted me to look deeper, I could see that Harley is so much more complex than I ever could of imagined. And so perfect for Mistah J!

I was particularly blown away by the relationship evolution section. It really explained the whole relationship perfectly- totally banishing any straying antagonism towards Harley. It is also wonderful because no matter who I threaten I can't get my hands on any of the comics, all graphic novels have to be ordered from overseas, (which takes forever- I'm still waiting for the first one I ordered) and my youtube doesn't want me to watch the Animated Series- so a billion heartfelt thankyous. *Hugs*

So yeah, I'm rabbiting on a lot... I basically just wanted to give you my sincerest thanks. I kinda really owe my deepening levels of obsession with this fascinating relationship to you. Congrats from converting me from my Gotham hating ways. Also you favourited my one-shot poem on Deviantart. That was nice. *More hugs for you and your awesomeness*

I must say that you have by far the best Joker/harleyquinn website and commentary i have ever seen. I too often came to the conclusions that you did as well and it was nice to see that you were so insightful.

I am in a D/s relationship and wanted to also thank you for not making it sound like a bunch of kooks all dressed up like horses.

I am e-mailing to say thank you for making me understand the Joker/Harley dynamic a bit better. I admit I didn't always like the paring (Batman/joker and Ivy/Harley  are my first batman pairings love but I'm not e-mailing about that) But after reading your fics and essays I have to say that I respect the pairing a lot more now both as cannon and a paring in itself.

Just wanted to send you a quick hello and thank you.  To keep a long story short, my wife and I wanted to learn a bit more about the history behind some characters we had always been fascinated by: The Joker and Harley Quinn.  We were familiar with them from Batman The Animated Series but for whatever reason or another, never looked into them beyond that.  We came across your Harley site, then from there the Love Dat Joker and jokerxharley sites.  After reading into their history and theories on their psychology, the characters we liked quickly became characters we love (to the point where we have even begun getting into cosplay).  So, we just wanted to say thank you.  The effort you put into your sites certainly does not go unnoticed.

I absolutely LOVED the essays you wrote on- love? and mad love and everything else on that page...its insanely intense because I completely agree with your views on their relationship etc and I haven't found anyone else that feels the same and that can express it so beautifully...Thank you.

I just want to say that you really made me think about the relationship of harley and joker in a differnt way. I started to grow to love joker after reading the killing joke some years back but never really liked his romantic relationship with harley...but you made me see a certain charm in it.

so thank you for expanding my horizons.

I have to tell you that after reading your work, I can understand the relationship between Harley and the Joker much more clearly. In fact, you've converted me completely to a Joker/Harley shipper! Never, ever, did I think those words would come out of me.
